Earnings and Productivity Statistics in April 2012       

In April 2012, the total nonagricultural payroll employment, at 6,925 thousand, increased by 1 thousand (or 0.01%) than last month. In comparison with April 2011, payroll employees increased by 136 thousand (or 2.00%). The average employment since January 2012 was 6,919 thousand, increased by 150 thousand (or 2.21%) than the same period of last year. The average monthly hours of work in April 2012 was 173.9 hours, that decreased by 14.5 hours from last month and increased by 2.7 hours from April 2011. The average working-hour since January 2012 increased 0.1 hours than the same period of last year. The average regular earnings in April 2012 was NT$37,410, which was 0.13% more than last month and 1.95% more than the same month of last year. Average monthly earnings in April was NT$41,453, which was 0.38% more than last month and 1.70% more than the same month of last year. The average regular earnings since January 2012 was NT$37,222, which was 1.89% more than the same period of last year. The real regular earnings raised 0.56%. The average monthly earnings since January 2012 was NT$52,110, decreased by 0.75% than the same period of last year, while the real average earnings fell 2.04%.
